The Basics

Everyone is free to come and watch the show, enter the art contest, play the games, shop our vendors and concession stand and participate in our awesome bucket raffle and silent auction!

Poultry Entries are due with proof of PT test (may be presented day of coop in) and fees by February 12, 2026
Rabbit and Egg show EARLY entries and fees are due by February 12, 2026
Rabbit and Egg show entries can be done the day of the show with additional fees.
​NO RABBITS WILL BE CHECKED IN FRIDAY 2/13.

Before arrival at the show, ALL of the birds you are bringing MUST have up-to-date PT test papers available at check-in.  There MAY be PT testing available on site.

Entry Fees:
APA/ABA Poultry and Backyard Show  $6.00 per bird.
Double Coop $12.00 per bird. A double coop is for large birds-1 bird per double cage. 
​Poultry and Rabbit Showmanship $8
Rabbit EARLY entry $5  ($6 day of show)

Having trouble deciding what show to enter your birds/rabbits in?

• The Open show is for adults 19 years of age and older.
• The Backyard show is meant for cross-bred or backyard birds/rabbits for adults and youth of any age. 
• The Junior show is for youth, 18 years and younger, but judged the same as the Open show.

Neither Kyle 4-H, Texas 4-H, Dripping Springs Ranch Park Events Center or Alumni are liable for accidents or losses while attending the show.

Rules and Regulations
Entry deadline will be February 12, 2026

Poultry Only:
Show room will be open to receive birds Friday February 13th from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
Saturday February 14th  the show room will reopen at 7:00am. All birds must be in place by 9am. A.B.A and A.P.A. standards will be used by the judge.
Protest must be submitted in writing along with $25.00 cash, which will be returned if upheld. Show committee will make final decision on all protest.
Only judges and show officials are allowed to handle and move birds other than the owner. Handling anyone else's bird without permission from the owner will result in a 1 year ban from the show.
To transport poultry off personal property (such as to shows, sales etc.) in Texas, your flock is required to be pullorium typhoid clean and you must hold a current copy of the certificate. All shows you attend in Texas require you to have a copy of the certificate with you.


PRIOR TO SHOW HAVE YOUR BIRD/S TESTED. There will be a PT tester day of the show, but you are responsible to get your birds checked in and into their cages prior to the 9 am judging start time. 

If you do not have a current PT test for your flock there WILL be an authorized tester on location. Understand that the test will only be good for this show. Please confirm there will be a tester present before bringing untested birds. Sick birds will be removed from the show room.
Exhibitors will be responsible for feeding and watering their own birds. Some feed or scratch and Water will be available.


TEXAS EXHIBITORS ONLY
Bird sales will be permitted provided the seller has the Texas Animal Health Commission Fowl Registration Permit and current Pullorum-Typhoid annual inspection papers at the sale. Sellers must provide their own sale cages. Crowding will not be permitted. Failure to abide by the above conditions will negate the right to sell. Sick birds will be removed from the show facility.

Rabbits:
Saturday February 14th  the show room will open at 7:00am. All rabbits must be in their own carrying cage and checked in by 9am. ARBA  standards will be used by the judge, however, this is NOT an ARBA sanctioned show.
Protests must be submitted in writing along with $25.00 cash, which will be returned if upheld. Show committee will make final decision on all protest.
Only judges and show officials are allowed to handle and move rabbits other than the owner. Handling anyone else's rabbit without permission from the owner will result in a 1 year ban from the show.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANY BIRDS/RABBITS UNTIL RELEASE HAS BEEN ANOUNCED. This will follow the award presentation upon completion of judging.

Poultry categories/age groups:
COCK- Male 12 months or older
HEN- Female 12 months or older
COCKEREL- Male under 12 months or age
PULLET- Female under 12 months of age
Entry forms must be marked as per OPEN, BACKYARD, or JUNIOR(see above for explanation). All unmarked forms will be judged in the open show.
To compete for bantam DISPLAY, exhibitors must exhibit at least 1 cock, 1 hen, 1 cockerel, 1 pullet and three more birds of the same variety.

Rabbit categories/age groups:
DOE-female rabbit
BUCK-male rabbit
JUNIOR buck/doe-up to 6 months of age
INTERMEDIATE buck/doe-6-9 months of age
SENIOR buck/doe-over 9 months of age



Junior Showmanship - $8 entry fee - Trophy buckles for Grand and Reserve Champions!! Poultry and Rabbit
18 years old and younger.
This is your chance to demonstrate your showmanship skills and breed knowledge.
Judging criteria can be found under the showmanship tab .
Note: Showmanship birds/rabbits can be shown in Open, Youth, or Backyard Shows. You need to make sure your bird is not about to be judged prior to removing it for the Showmanship event
